"Untitled NES RPG" is, as the name implies, an RPG for the Nintendo Entertainment System that does not, at present, have a title. It's not as old as Starless, but it is one of my older projects. I don't have a whole lot to share about it at this point, but I can say that it's sort of "Shadowrun meets That Hideous Strength," with a touch of Lovecraft thrown in for good measure. It started basically because it seemed like most homebrew console RPGs were blatant Final Fantasy/Dragon Warrior clones, and I thought it'd be cool to do something not so tied to the standard "mixed-tech high fantasy" setting and accompanying standard mechanics.
I'm still working out how the gameplay will differ from the standard "SNES-era FF-alike" template - I want it to be more like a tactical RPG, but the NES isn't especially well-suited to that when it comes to graphical capabilities. At the very least, I hope to offer some more mechanical depth than the standard.
"Untitled NES RPG" will also be seeing an upgraded version on the Amiga and Sega Genesis, because hey, why not?
